My name is Kenneth Frost. I'm from Australia, been hair dressing over 14 years, worked my way from Australia to London, now i m in shanghai, to see the different styles that can be created here.

我是Kenneth Frost ，我来自澳洲。做发型师已经14年了，从澳洲起家，之后到伦敦发展。

现在来到上海，想体验不同的文化不同的创意。

 

Exaggerating the looks, giving her bigger hair. wild and spitted out,editorial from a magazine, its high fashion, its selling the concept.

很夸张的造型，膨胀的头发，比较狂野爆炸。一般高端时尚杂志的造型想宣示一种概念和态度。

 

After hair is complete, the make-up process begins. It's the unenviable task of the make-up artist to come up with a look to match today's theme, "Mash," by local designer Helen Lee. To match the theme today, I ve put on the asymmetric eye-line on her face.

发型完成以后，就要开始化妆了。彩妆师必须根据今天设计师李鸿雁的新系列mash配合相应的彩妆造型。

 

For the day of the shoot, we sometimes waited for 3 hours for make-up, for the stuff we do, magazine clients that are high fashion, everything must be perfect, from make-up and hair.

拍摄的时候 我们常常需要等3个小时的化妆，因为高端时尚的拍摄从头发到妆容、所有的细节都需要是完美的。

 

Born in shanghai, Helen Lee is one of China's most sought after designers.

出生于上海的李鸿雁，目前已经是中国最出名的本土设计师之一。

 

I really like helen's creativity. she's not afraid to experiment,and she is not afraid to bring out her own path, her own cultural path, and try to create something that's new and forward thinking.i enjoy working with helen.

我非常欣赏Helen的创意，她勇于尝试并融合自己的文化元素，非常有新意、非常前卫，我喜欢和Helen合作。

 

It takes an hour for hair, two for make-up and changing outfits. At last, the cameras are ready to roll.today we are going to be shooting a collection called "mash" on a medium format film camera with a 22 million pixel digital back. and we are trying to get some really cool photos.

 

经过一个小时的发型、两个小时的化妆和试装，拍摄终于准备开始了。今天我们要拍摄的系列叫mash，我用的机器是中幅2200万像素带数码后背的胶卷相机，希望今天的拍照成功。

 

Try to get a look in the eyes, first and foremost, and then the posture.i find the best to make the model very relax and very comfortable. not try to shoot when the model feels very unatural, or uncomfortable, you can see it in the pictures.

注意模特的眼睛，然后才是姿势，让模特放松非常重要，因为如果她感觉不自然、不放松，很容易就能从照片里看出来。

 

Try to know her more, if you know who she is, you can bring out her personality in the pictures.Fashion industry is very cut-throat at times, a lot of competition, a lot of deadlines, but its also an industry where you can be creative.

尝试了解她，这样你的照片里也能反映她的性格。时尚界是很残酷的，竞争激烈、 完稿时间的压力，但是时尚界也是最具创意的，我觉得时尚不简单。

 

I think fashion is tough,there are many tough things about the fashion industry. most people see the glamrous side, in the magazines and in the parties, but behind it all, we have tremendous amounts of deadlines, a lot of pressure on the shoot.

时尚界有很多艰难的地方，很多人只看到杂志和派对上绚丽的一面，但是这些绚丽的背后是数不清的完稿压力以及拍摄中遇到的困难。

 

But what's the key to channeling this creative energy?A good photographer has something around him, like energy. i think sometimes there need no words.we actually work very regularly, i like him, i like his work, i am also surprised when i see his works.

 

但是要如何在拍摄时候有不断的创意出现呢？我认为一位好的摄影师周围有一种能量，有的时候是不需要谈话的。实际上我们经常合作 ，我喜欢他，喜欢他的作品，让我经常有很多惊喜。

 

We have people shooting the same model, the same clothing, and similar studio condition, you have to strive to be creative, new, forward thinking, fashion forward. there are no correct answers.

如果拍同一个模特，穿同样的衣服，摄影棚的条件类似。你就需要大胆、创新、前卫，时尚没有对错。

 

We always meet during the shoots, its collabration, its not just one person's idea, so we put forward the whole team.i came to shanghai for what's supposed to be 3 weeks and wind up to be 3 years. i find too the fashion industry is really emerging here, there's chance to be very creative. Shanghai is a wild wild place, everytime i walk on the street, i always see something new, different, exciting, crazy, you name it. It's shanghai.

拍摄之前我们经常碰头，这是一个团队的努力，并不是一个人的成果。我最初来上海只计划呆3个月，后来变成了3年，上海的时尚界在发展，上海非常有魅力，每次我走在上海的街头。总是发现新鲜的、 不一样的、疯狂的东西。说也说不清，这就是上海。
