36 volunteers from Japan have just started working as Expo volunteers. They arrived in Shanghai last weekend. After some training, they are now stationed in Zones A and B in Pudong and Zones D and E in Puxi, near the Japan Pavilion and the Japanese Industry Pavilion. Recruiting of the Japanese volunteers started this April in Japan. Most are college students and retirees - the oldest is 66, and about half of them speak Chinese. They plan to work in the Expo Park for 14 days. Then another 40 Japanese volunteers will replace them.
