1984年復旦大学を卒業後、上海テレビに入社。その後、公費留学生として、読売テレビにて研修生の傍ら、関西学院大学社会学部社会学博士課程前期を修了。中国のテレビ番組ベスト司会者——「金話筒賞（ベストマイク賞）」の銅賞を受賞。
